Orit & Dalia Ouziel, who were
born in Tel-Aviv, began their musical education at the Rubin Academy in
their home town before graduating from the Royal Conservatory of Music of
Brussels (Belgium). Since 1977, they have performed as a duo in all major
concerts hall in Belgium as well as in Europe, Israel, USA and South
America, receiving outstanding critics wherever they played as well as
for their recordings.
They also participated in piano
festivals and event dedicated to piano music for 4, 6 and 8 hands on 1 or
2 pianos with internationally known pianist such as Brigitte Engerer,
David Lively, Abdel-Rahman El-Bacha, Daniel Blumenthal, Emmanuel
Strosser, as well as with the leading pianists in Belgium such as
Jean-Claude Vanden Einden, Dominique Cornil, André De Groote, Johan
Schmidt, Alan Weiss, Pascal Sigrist etc.
in event such as Pianofolia (Brussels) or as part of the Belgian
Chamber Artists.
Their repertoire covers different
periods and styles, including the standard repertoire from Bach to
Gershwin, as well as the complete works for piano 4 hands and 2 pianos of
Mozart, Beethoven, Ravel and Rachmaninov, which they performed several
times in a cycle of concerts as an integral. Their discography includes
the complete works for piano 4 hands and 2 pianos of Mozart including the
2 concertos for 2 piano with the Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia (dir :
Georges Octors), the complete works for piano 4 hands of Beethoven, the
complete Slavonic Danses of Dvorak as well as as well as works of
Rachmaninov, Chostakovitch, Lutoslawsky, Moszkowsky and Schubert
(including his Fantasy for 4 hands).
Among
the concerts scheduled for next season, the Ouziel sisters will perform
the complete cycle “Les Visions de l’Amen” of Messiaen. Orit and Dalia Ouziel are both member of
the faculty of the Royal Music Conservatory of Mons (Belgium) and gives
regularly master-classes in Europe.
